The Hydro* construction manual has a few proofreading errors. The electromagnet to be inserted into plastic pipe casing needs to have an external magnetic field. The parts list calls for a PN which is made of ferrite, for high frequency. (A full toroid coil has no outside magnetic field. )What is needed is a powdered iorn toroid core 3" OD 1.9" ID and 1/2" thick. Frequency used is a low 20 cycles approx. Clamp it between two boards and grind in a wide slot through the thickness, and hand file smooth edges. This way a pulsing magnetic field is there exterior to coil because the flux does not have a continuous round path. With about 500 feet of #22-#23, you get about 8 ohms. So that at 12 volts you get about an amp current with very high turns, and magnetic field. The slot also allows much easier hand winding and can click a counter on the side. There are about 3 grades of iron cores for flux density depending on money spent. The overall outer OD of wired coil has to fit loosely inside casing . PVC is 4"ID, CPVC pipe is about 3.75" ID. The Hydrostar is similar to the design by Xogen, Meyer, and Dan Danforth hydrogen generator. My opinion is that the coil should have 2 uses at the same time. When transister Q shuts off , the coil reverse high volts pulse should be hooked to one end plate of water capacitor cell. With tap water, there is about 2 ohms resistance, so that a very high value resistor would be attatched between opposite electrode and ground. The applied stress should aid the process making fuel gases. Electron flow from neg to pos, then reverse collapse of magnetic field. High voltage one way blocking diode protects lower transister. Regular heavy coated magnet wire is cheaper than teflon coated wire. The teflon insulation makes a wider overall coil, due the the thick teflon coating. May not get required 1500 turns teflon to fit, and the center hole gets smaller.
