I am re-sending another pile of DVD's. I am fairly certain that some people are going to end up with 5 or 6 DVD copies.... I know the postal service here is slow, but the last time I ordered a SMALL item from Australia and another from China, it took nearly 8 months for it to arrive, and they were purchased from a business web site. One is an Electronics place in Australia.

So if it takes 8 months to get from there to here, I wonder how long it will take from here to there?

Guys; you might want to re-read through this thread. AlaskaStar has answered this question a few times.

Heat will not be a issue.

Why?

Look at what the medium is going to be. It's propane. It's flaming cold! Even when he adds heat to it, it's still only going to get to around 120*C. Neo magnets will lose their magnetisim at around 430*C.

As for shattering, well yes I have seen a few of these magnets break. they mostly beak where they are thin, mostly on the edges and corners. To prevent this a fibre glass coat could be put over the magnet to increase strength.

The engine will make for a very nice item to put your soda and beer on top of, or near, as it will keep them nicely cooled. What was this heat about again?

The engine will be spinning over between 500 and 3500 RPM, and the valves will open and close at 4 times that rate.

And yes the high speed slamming COULD cause the neo magnets to break.

A necessary risk.

Attaching a coil to the top of the valve generates a need for a MOVING wire connection. Eventually this wire will fatigue and FAIL.

I could do it with a PLUNGER and AIR COIL, similar to the solenoid on a Chevy Starter....

Oh well. History repeats because people don't take time to read. Which is why I think our president is a MISTAKE. Time will tell though. At least BUSH is out of office!

AlaskaStar... IF you need some heat resistance coatings or Friction reducing coatings for your engine build, check out these guys. http://www.fireballcoatings.com/

they have some neat stuff. the price is reasonable and racers here in Ontario swear by their stuff...

Example.... one local racer had an advantage over the other racers by making 10 more HP without breaking any race rules, simply by reducing the friction in the engine and spooling up his turbo faster by keeping more heat in the exhaust stream vs wasting the heat to heat the metal in the exhaust system.
