the one we have is on the bottom but use'n ignition modules instead of transistor.After a over a year mess'n around with this stuff this is my first 555 timer circut....Thanks Bob,Brian,Shine,Looking....all you guys helped in that and i appreciate it!!!Electronics is somewat satisfy'n after get'n someth'n done but still not sure its my cup of tea in make'n circuts ....lol but it is fun when it gets done and works...Thanks again fella's!!! Hi Nobody,

The thing you're looking for is called "Veroboard" (sometimes called "stripboard"), and you can get it from most electronics shops. It consists of a fibreglass sheet, with lots of holes drilled in it, and parallel strips of copper on one side. You solder the 555 and associated components to the veroboard, then cut the tracks that you don't need.

Extremely useful for what you're doing, and a heck of a lot cheaper than trying to do things the 'conventional' way.

Thanks - it looks like another trip to Radio Shack to find this "Veroboard".

In the breadboard circuit I'm always wondering if the connections are stable, sodering them in would eliminate that problem.
