Yes, brute force only. Because as soon as your electrolyte shorts out the cells in the common drain off during refill, any resonance you have running is shut down until the short condition clears. Then you have to go through the resonance restart procedure again. Anything that causes a common electrical connection condition between any cells during operation will cause this to occur.

Just want to clarify that the resonance short would only happen when you have more than 2 cells, in a series configuration. In a single parallel electrolyzer, I don't believe it would apply.

Correct waterbard, but the discussion I gave was not about single cells.

If anyone wants to go back and re-read what the reference was about, then they will understand we are not talking about problems with refilling parallel plate designs. The entire description of the drain setup is moot in a single parallel plate cell because that type of cell can be flooded without shorting cells.

Another point is, unless you plan on driving each flooded cell seperately at 2 VDC or less, and building a seperate resonance drive for each of those seperate flooded cells, you will have loads of fun trying to reach resonance, let alone keep it, with a series set of parallel plate design cells.
