12 V or BRUTE FORCE electrolysis.

Postby glenn_aircooled » Tue Aug 15, 2006 4:12 am

Hey I got to check out a Brute FORCE ELECTROLYSER today.
-
Yes one of those 12v across two bolt things...yes they are simple
and robust. - thats a good point.!
My main trouble was to try to get some constant output.!
The thing kept changing so fast, the temp rise was so fast - this
thing is sure to Make some SERIOUS Steam.

( Of course we know that steam into the motor REDUCES POWER of
the motor....). Well, from the best result I could get ......
-
13.4 V...... 19.2A......67 sec.....for 200ml Hyd/Oxy.....10.7 LPH...24.0 W/LPH
wow.!
thats some serious Power WASTAGE.!!!!!!!
just compare this to a Series Cell with 1.9 V across 7 Cells.......and Note mine is running better than when this test was done because
I'v improved electrolyte since this test:
13.28 V......3.9A......44 sec......for 200ml Hyd/Oxy.....16.3 LPH....3.17 W/LPH.
Mine got far more gas per min at only 3.9 Amps........please consider this.
My unit is far from Super Efficient, the design is flawed because it is Too
Tall. BUT still Lots better than BRUTE FORCE.!!!!!

Can you enclose that bruteforce electrolyzer so its under pressure?

Pressure is detrimental to production, watts per liter/hour goes up unless you use the pressure to allow for higher EXTERNAL input of heat and run in endothermic mode. Exothermic under pressure, pouring out loads of heat is counterproductive.

Keeping it cool!

Postby vincecastro » Tue Aug 15, 2006 11:22 pm

I've seen some brute force electrolyzers use a winshield or RV water pump to pump the electrolyte through a transmission radiator to keep it cool and not steam. Just thought I'd share. I'm sure it's been mentioned in these posts somewhere.

I can see how that would work.
Would also be a good way to get rid of some excess energy. :D
The only advantage of doing this pumping/ cooler system would be if there was no space
for a proper large surface area ( low v ) design.

Larry the owner of the 12 V unit , built another one.
Now this is what I call Good.! I like 1 Litre Hyd/Oxy for less current.!

Bob have you seen the mist coming out the end of output pipe from a unit.?
Just that I havent seen this till today. I dont suppose it means we have got
Monotomic H.???????????

Bob Boyce, is it possible to connect to the forum you host?
Just that I would like to ask some questions that may be embarressing
on open forum?
glenn_aircooled ATT yahoo DOTT com DOTT au............. I imagine its pretty
congested.!
Thanks for considering.
if this is not possible, I could ask and you can choose what you may comment on.

Just adding some clarification here for everyone so as to NOT confuse terms.

"Brute Force Electrolysis" does not mean inefficient electrolysis. It is NOT referring to wasting power by putting 12v across 1 cell.

"Brute Force Electrolysis" is simply referring to using straight DC current to produce electrolysis. It is just a form of baseline electrolysis. There is no frequency modulation or AC piggybacking or anything odd going on with the supply of power. It's just straight DC as you would get from batteries.

Please do not start associating Brute Force Electrolysis with inefficient electrolysis because that is certainly NOT the case here.

Your 2 comparisons that you spoke of Glenn, were in fact both forms of Brute force electrolysis. It's just that 1 was more efficient then the other.

I will often refer to that term in my work because I have held the belief, for years now, that once you make a superior Brute Force Electrolyzer, you can then take the next step and start playing with frequencies and voltage modulation etc...
