Glen if yer running on a older mototr with alot of carbon build up i would be careful and keep an eye on th eoil preasure guage as the old sludge and carbon gets lose and may clog up yer screen.....same thing happens when running synthetic oil after years of of not.....before ya know it oil pump is gone and lots of trouble.....glad to hear someone is running under the hood now.....

Glen, this was an observation from many year ago. I was thinking about the physics of this. I think, I had it backwards. The motorcycle was stationary in the police shop. If he ran up the rpms, that could cause the pipes to glow. Spraying the water at that point would give a blast of steam to carry away the carbon. The latent heat of a phase change from water to steam would tend to grab the heat. I would not give up the heat until it condensed outside the exhaust. So, I'm sure I was wrong.
