1 if you use just a battery charger you are limited to the max amperage that the unit is rated for
2 old batery chargers ARE HALF OR FULL WAVE RECTIFIED THAT MEANS NIOSE IN THE FOR OF AC OVEWR THE DC. IF YOU HAD AN O SCOPE YOU WOULD SEE THAT YOUR POWER IS DIRTY WITH AC RIPPLE.
3 NEW BATTERY CHARGERS WILL NOT PROVIDE OUT PUT UNLESS THERE IS AROUND 3VDC OR MORE. THESE ARE SMARTCHARGERS.
4 IF YOUO DO USE A BATTERY YOU MUST HAVE A CHARGER ATTACHED AS THE VOLTAGE WILL DROP AS AMPS INCREASE. IE TURN ON HEAD LIGHT OF CAR IGNITION OFF. OBSERVE LIGHT INTENSITY FOR 5 MN. THE START CAR U WILL SEE THE GET BRIGHTER. FLOAT VOLTAGE IS 12.2 CHARGE IS 13.6VDC IF YOU PUT A CHARGER ON YOUR BATTERY WHILE CONDUCTING TESTS YOU WILL GET A STABLE POWERSUPPLY THAT WILL NOT VARY. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE SWEET SPOT IS A STABLE P[OWER SUPPLY,ONE THAT IS ROCK SOLID. WITH OUT ONE STANDARD YOU WILL NOPT GET TRUE RESULTS.
