Your unit sounds Good....except for the " 1/2 inch above plates"
Comment. I dont completely follow your set up [ I hope ].
The plates have a gaskit all around them except for a section 2 1/4 "
at the top. Ok so the Hydroxy can bubble out the Gap in the seal at the top.
Now you dont want the Electrolyte flooded over the top of all the cells
because then the Current would just Easily jump across [ Leakage ] all
the edges of your plates or provide a leakage path from one cell to the next.
----- Now maybe you have barriers between all the Gaps in your gaskits -
done in such a way that there cant be leakage.

The other question you asked me [ or someone asked?] was :
How did I get My hydroxy unit to reduce output at idle?

Well it just happened that where I picked up my DC Voltage for powering my
unit [ from the Battery ], the Alternator cuts down its charge at Idle
and so the Voltage decreases and so less current - less Hydroxy.
When the Revs pick up - the Alternator cuts in and increases the voltage
and so Current through the unit increases = more Hydroxy.

When I finally get round to the bigger unit on my car [ which will have 19
cells and an inverter powering it ] , I will run a control system in place to
reduce the power supply output at idle and when decelerating.

Once you get your unit on your car , you will notice that the Engine breaking
that you Used to have on your car will be Much Reduced.
Its not like it tries to Keep accelerating...... it just doesnt create the same amount
of drag on the drive train.
