Bob, I don't think that it is illegal in Australia, maybe Glenn would know?

Thanks for the thoughts folks!

Glenn....any thoughts on why the computer self adjusted back when the O2 sensor had a bias? Would have thought this would have directly affected the voltage feedback during closed loop showing a leaner mixture required. Could the computer been sensing increased heat from leaning then adjusted to a richer feed canceling the effect by the origonal bias?

Just wanted to say that I have my car setup with an adjustable piggyback ECU so that I can adjust what I want the engine to run at. I also have a wideband O2 sensor in it so that I can read what it is actually running at, but even that wideband has limitations for what we are doing, it only goes as high as 22:1. When I get the cell for the car finished I'll try to remember to post in here about how I got the ECU to not re-adjust everything to keep to stock preset AFRs.

Anyone familiar with File D17, "A Practical guide to free energy devices". Its a file showing how to build a Air Fuel Mixture Controller. This is the same controller listed here. http://better-mileage.com/memberadx.html Anyway I ordered the parts and assembled the unit and, It didn't work as the file describes. I contacted Gary (Chemlec) and he wrote:

Unfortunately, as Tony found out this Circuit Doesn't Work as shown in the schematic.

There is an Error on the D17 Schematic.

I have corrected the schematic for Tony and also designed him a PCB for this circuit. Actually I built him one.
(The circuit in the PDF File was just made on Strip Board)

But if anyone wants this circuit board, I can supply it.

hey there
i have a '96 Windstar...
i have heard of a few things talk about for adjusting fuel ratio and what not.
where can i find suck things?

i have started producing in my garage with same cereal box bob uses.

the van has some issues that i hope will be taken care of in the process.

thank you for any help

I have 3 Ford Windstar Vans, a 1995, a 1996, and a 1998. I paid NOTHING for the 1995, I paid $300.00 for the 1996, and I paid $200.00 for the 1998 Model.

I have ALL the DEALERSHIP BOOKS for these, as well as the EVTM's the ATSG, and ALL other related materials. I also have the Haynes on this vehicle, the MITCHELL and the CHILTON.

I also have a NEW engine for the 1996 coming from NAPA (free of charge, and costs me nothing) because his drunken machinist removed the structural strength from my NEW (dealership ordered) Connecting rods, and they found themselves inside the water jacket of the engine.

But beyond that, I have rebuilt the engines on these, the transaxles, the steering, brakes, ABS, Fuel system, ignition system (nice tricks can be had on this one COMPLETELY ADJUSTABLE TOO!!) as well as the EMISSION SYSTEM. The State of Alaska uses one of my vans a few times per year to inspect the SHOPS that perform the MAINTENANCE, and SMOG INSPECTIONS. it runs so clean, that I have to supply the old and defunct parts for them to use to PURPOSELY FAIL the smog check, and if the station ILLEGALLY PASSES it, then the state gives them a RED TAG, and issues a PINK SLIP. COSTS the shop LOADS of MONEY. We get paid very well to do the undercover work.

I can get more information on these vans than most local shops. In basic form they are nothing more than a Ford Taurus with a VAN body attached.

All my Windstars have a Vin 4 (3.8 Litre) Engine. the 3.0 is a scaled down version, but rather gutless.

you can prevent premature head gasket leaks on these as well.

kinda costly, but well worth it. My 1998 has 202,154 Miles on it, and it runs near perfect. I need to replace a wheel bearing and do a front end alignment. I have it close, and the wheel is straight and doesn't pull anymore, but I have to do the final alignment tomorrow.

These vans are very forgiving, and the engines have MORE power available than the manufacturers would let on. We drove the 1995 from Wasilla, to Homer in JANUARY, and then bummed around town a couple days, and drove back ON THE SAME TANK OF FUEL. get a GOOGLE or YAHOO MAP...and figure it out. the mountain pass had at that time 2 solid inches of ICE on the roadway.

E-mail me for more info on these vans. Let's keep the site "Uncluttered"
