FINALLY got my Magnets installed into the 105Amp Delco. Had to machine a tiny bit out of the inside of the claws, so the magnets bottomed out.
Put the thing together, and spun it up on my Lathe. at 1750 RPM's, I read 14.4 volts no load, phase to phase ??? Doesn't seem like it's worth the effort.
I thought these things would spin up to over 100 volts or more. ???
I realize that 1750 is just getting started, but, maybe I'm missing something ???
I used 3" N45's, 2 @ ½". Clears the shaft by a tad over ¼" all around ???
Doing more research, I read that using a SS shaft would increase voltage.
Is this pretty much what I get to work with, or, what did I screw up ???
