It's called "INDUCTION"
Induction is sometimes used to heat....
Other times to make light....
and yet still is more widely used in transformers.
If you connect a ohm meter to a transformer, one one side, you will see continuity. On the other side, you will see continuity. Between the primary and secondary coils, however, you will have NO conduction. There is no connection between the primary coil and the secondary coils electrically. The coupling/ connection is MAGNETIC, and therefore falls under INDUCTION.
Now...we have a PRIMARY COIL, and NO SECONDARY COIL. The INDUCED ELECTRICITY is RECEIVED by the SODIUM in the form of MAGNETISM. It is RELEASED into the WATER.
Can it get any simpler?
Try this: Go to your nearest TARGET store. Go to the TOY ISLE. At the toy isle, look for a science kit. The one in particular looks like a book, but it has all the parts needed to perform the experiments INSIDE. Step-by-step instructions are in the kit, as well as the explanation of HOW it works. There are various kits...ENERGY, MAGNETISM, ELECTRICITY, INVENTIONS.... Get all 4 of them.
My nephew is having a ton of learning fun with these kits.
I got him these, because he wants to hang out and watch me work on this energy technology, but I want him to understand HOW it works, before he puts his hands in it.
