Kumaran, When you say turned fuel Knob to adjust fuel.............
I suspect you are just turning the IDLE MIXTURE screw.
I admit I dont know lot about this Model of car.
I would have thought to change Carburetor Mixture - You need to open
the Carburetor and change either the Air bleed or the Main Fuel Jet.
- Fixaze idea of bleeding air from outside to the manifold would work
but is not great at metering an exact amount - at cruise speeds of 100km/h
this would have a small effect - but when you get to a hill it would certainly
reduce your power and make you need lower gear.
This effect is similar to having the Hydroxy sucking into the Manifold. Where
this creates the Manifold leakage.
-
So I believe you need to do the test by having Hydroxy working at maximum
and having changed AIR BLEED or MAIN JET to an acceptable lower Fuel ratio
, say from 14 .7 : 1 down to 16.7 : 1 and try that ..........
How much change is required in jet I dont know.
I would change main jet from say [ just taking guess here ] 1.30 mm Hole
to 1.20 mm hole and see what changes take place.
[ I have filled jet holes with soldering Lead and then re-drilled them
to acomplish this task ].
You will feel the leaner mixture will effect the acceleration - usually a stumble as the pedal is pressed.
The Hydroxy should counter this and should drive like normal and will
feel smoother than Standard.
