GOod idea to polish tubes?

I just got my 304L stainless tubing today . 9" lengths, 9 sets of tubes.

These tubes have the printing on them ".750 x .065" AVG" etc.
Do stainless tubes come with any sort of coating? I was wondering if it would be a good idea to run them on a lathe with some fine grit sand paper to be sure that only the bare metal is exposed.

if you scratch em up you can expect no reflectivity.If you are do'n wat everybody else is do'n then scratch'n em up probably wont hurt em any.its of course up to you but i wuld only scratch the outside of the inner tube.I probably shuldnt respond to the tubes yet cuz I havent got to get mine tested yet.Still look'n for a containor.
