thers a graph in this link and it shows that a selinoid isnt any diffrent from a hemoltz coil,only diffrences it shows is that beyond the center of each one.It appears that a selinoid may be a better option it get'n a uniform field as far as construction goes.Hemholtz coils look more futeristic but ehh welll.......
