look into "phase loop syncronization" that power companies use to couple multiple energy inputs to the grid.
that would provide a way to couple them without frying them up. although we would all get a kick of watching a video of 4 inverters going up in a shower of sparks and pops, i'm sure it would be a very expensive method to learn why AC power is kept "in time" so to say.
someplace back in history there was a major electrical blackout in someplace like new york, though i could be wrong. but the story went that the guy just threw the switch to couple the second generator to the grid....and blew the grid. basically all power shut off. the aparrant reason was the AC power sine wave of the second was exactly 180 degrees off the first generator, and cancelled it out. lots of sparks, and lots of smoke. just fathom a genset head glowing red and the engine chugging all can go.

Being a motor head, I was thinking about each cylinder having a nice pulse spark from an inverter. What about each having it's own, and how would you control the spark without blowing up the distributer or coils. I guess the inverters would demand too much power at rest, even though the work done is only to make an ignition spark.
Also, I saw a condensor at wally-mart in the auto section for a audio system. It was about the size of a liter bottle and was 1/2 Farad. I'm wondering how fast this thing can charge and how much an ignition spark it could make?

Oh is that all you want to do.
Just use one inverter & use the distributor to send the spark ( or spark PULSES ) to the plug that needs it.
I reckon it would be good to have a long period of 120 V pulsing sparks,
so would use dual points if had one or modify the posts in the dizzy cap to
allow conduction for longer period.
A good thing with inverters is that the AC output can easily be Transformer
Step Up to much higher voltage and then put through diode to make them
Positive only DC pulses at twice the frequency.
