OK...I dont mean to sound inpolite, rude, or stupid in posting this, but does anyone have any good designes that work, for an easy to assimble, cheap (under $100) and widly adjustible frequency generator. I would prefer it to be a squar wave form, but whatever works. I would like it to be adjustable between the frequencies of 100hz to 500khz (at least). I know im asking alot, but i get a feeling that there are others asking the same thing (or close to it). I have seen Bob boyce's design, and find it interusting, but i still am clueless as to how to make it, or even what it does. i know the general idea of what it does, but am unsure if it is what im looking for. I am not trying to insult Bob in any way, in fact i thank him, for making his work avalible to others, its just that i dont understand how to assimble it. And i realize that as some people are reading this there thinking "dan dan, how can it be anymore simpler"? but the answer to them is that im about as skilled at electronics as a mouse is at killing a lion.

.It would also be a big help if anyone has any plans or diagrams for converting/using existing equitment to generate a variable frequency. Either way, i just would like a way to generate a frequency in hopes of testing and playing around with the efficiencies of using frequency, rather than strait DC.
also something like this would be sweet to own, but i do not have an ebay account, and dont own a credit card

but i couldnt find a store anywhere else on the net that sell such a thing.
Thanks to all.
