ss thickness

i am using 030 thick ss-316 but i can get 1-8 or125 thickness .does this matter in heat production, the thicker the less heat .any coments please or suggestions

I too am curious.. the hardware store down the road has some SS foil.. well you can imagine what I was thinking. The only thing that stopped me from purchase was your exact questions...


Anyone with experience in this area... How thin is too thin?

Aloha,
Get it as thick as possible. I was using .020" and found a place where it was completely disintegrated into two pieces on a Mr. G cell. I only use 1/2 tea. lye to a gallon filtered water. Cell runs at about 6-8 amps, two in series.
