Agree with Chem about the bike pump. As a one off, the pump piston would be forced down as the heat of the bonds breaking expanded the air. As the bonds reform to make water and then condense into liquid there would be a contraction pulling the piston some way back up.

There would be plenty of oxygen in the air for the H2 to burn without the addition of extra oxygen so it would ignite.

However, in reality, unless you ignited a very precise amount of H2, you would no doubt blow the piston straight off before the influence of the contraction phase!

Forgot to mention, forget about the hydrogen in terms of the Joe Cell.

If the Joe cell works, hydrogen and oxygen are just by-products. In 10 minutes the Joe cell wouldn't make enough hydrogen to blow your hat off!

That's not to say its doesn't work, just that if it does its using some other form of energy.

Problem is, just like Meyer, you can read a whole lot of nonsense and contradictory statements about the Joe Cell. Most of it from uneducated people without a clue. There are even the religious crackpots who seem to think that a god makes it work, and it only works if you think 'nice thoughts'.
