The extra tank didn't work as extra water or as a bubbler. Probably the way I had it configured. Any was took that out. Was able to disconnect the sensor, and gassed up. Two days ago I drove 53.4 miles just around town, no highway. It took 1.8 gal which gave me 29.6 mpg. Yesterday I did the same driving for 54.9 miles and it took 2.2 gal which gave me 24.9 mpg. That was before disconnecting the 02 sensor.
The other day I drove 103.6 miles and it took 2.7gal. for 38.3. Today after disconnecting the 02 sensor, I drove 106.5 miles and it took 2.7 gal for 39.4 mpg. When I started out after the disconnection, it took 61 miles before the Check Engine Light came . So I only drove about 41 miles with the enging light on. Also I purchased some ss wire and made new leads for the cell before taking the trip.
I stopped every so ofter to check the water in the generator. It seem like I was using a lot of water. Probably about 2 cups in the 106 miles. That seems like a lot to me. I noticed that the amps being pulled by the time I got home was real close to 15 amps. I dumped the water and cleaned out the generator and refilled with new water with 1/2 tsp soda. When I checked that it was pulling about 2 amps but that was with the water being cold. I did not take it out and drive it to get the water warmed up. I did notice the side of the generator was just warm when I got home, not hot, and the positive connection was not even warm. I added a petcock at the bottom of the generator, and a fill tube on the side to see how much water was in the generator.
I guess I will just drive it around town for a few days with the 02 sensor disconnected and see how it does. I noticed my Traction Light also came on, so that must be connected to the same line as the 02 sensor.
Any comments or observation are appreciated.
