www.nuenergy.org) has finally filed his patent for a generator that extracts useful electricity from low-level radioactive materials. His work, similar to Moray's is the first to generate high voltage with useful current.

Basically, Bruce proposes reacting radon gas with germanium to release alpha particles and delta radiation. A palladium cylinder collects the electrons freed from the alpha-fusion (yes, fusion) reaction, and feeds to a set of rectifiers, capacitors, etc. that can sustain a useful load. It's a bit technical, but certainly not too much for some of the geniuses here.
I'm talking to some nuclear engineering friends about the idea, and they think Bruce's idea has legs. I'd love to hear what the OUPower membership thinks...
