For me, It's about establishing the hydrogen economy, THEN bringing the revolution. It's sort of a timing issue for me.
The Government will certainly try to control this, I'm aware of it, and I accept that fact -- I don't agree with it, but I do understand the harsh reality of those in charge. I also understand that they will keep us just on thier side of comfort, for as long as possible; They need us to be able to afford their resource for them to profit. It's not extremely uncomfortable, it's just frustrating to know we could do so much better.
When it comes time to launch a defensive against those in power, I will be at the front lines.. But I don't intend to waste my time fighting a cause that has no obvious win condition, and our oil economy is a really hard egg to crack- which is why it's taken us this long to see it change. The only reason it's changing now is because the oil economy is collapsing under their feet, and they have no choice but to change.
When they start taxing home production of clean fuel, then I'll speak to congress with a hundred thousand voices. Because this is one of the few points that the American people WILL unite on. There is nothing else in history that is quite like the proposed hydrogen economy.. it's unstable (in terms of governmental control), and the whole energy infastructure impacts every one of our lives.
As I see it... I have lived this long under the fist of Big Oil, and I'll do so for a few more years if that means waiting for them to make a mistake. The affordable hydrogen fuel cell will be the Achilles' heel, and it will be exposed to everyone soon enough if we keep pushing for the hydrogen economy. That's why I'm big on this change.
In other words.. we could fight Big Oil right now, but we wouldn't have a leg to stand on because they own the resources. Tomorrow, we will own the resources, and they will have done all the research and development for us. ;)Statistics: Posted by Cryptonic26 — Thu Jun 19, 2008 1:06 am
