Think I have it sussed now. When going to search, I didn't go down the page and examine the options  , didn't realise they were there. Thanks

Just a thought for what it is worth.
When using the "search" function you are inundated with posts. Now it maybe that I am not using the "search" properly and if that is so, I am disappointed that no-one has taken the time and effort to answer my question.

If I am using the "search" properly, I find the results overwhelming.

My suggestion is an alphabetical Index with keywords based on experimental proven data. In electrolysis Volts and Amps play a crucial part and if under those headings proven data can be displayed it would make it easier to find what you are looking for. As both are inter-related a cross reference can be used to find the information one is looking for

Looking at the Forum Index, Electrolysis and Hydrogen Applications by far and away generate the most interest. As such I would suggest that initially the index info would concentrate on that. Perhaps some who have the info at their finger tips could assist in short statements explaining. I don't envisage anyone being able to post in the index as this would/could become confusing. Those wishing to post on a given subject would be authorised and expected to stick to material which has been proven on this site.
If anyone has an objection to the way material is presented they can on "Website Operations" raise their concerns

What say you?

sorry I didn't forget about this. Just a lot going on lately on the homefront. Three (yes 3) different family members in the hospital all for unrelated things. It's been crazy lately. LOL

A great way to decide, is by actually reading the posts with questions. Yes many members post information without asking too many questions, but the questions are a great place to start. By expanding/ modifying the forum to be more organized to answer and sort out the information would be great. Another is by topic.

Make a list topic by topic, all the different things here on the forum, the good, bad and ugly. Sort out by category.

My opinion is that the Joe Cell stuff is dead, and has someplace been issued a death certificate. Look at the other forums out there and this will be easily noticed.

The electrolysis forum has so many pages, that there are some pages and topics that people don't even know exist.

Maybe if the electrolysis (example here, because it is the biggest) forum was broken into different groups, like Brute force, PWM, Resonance, and any other method using electricity?

I am an organizational thought type person, the Dewey Decimal system makes perfect sense as does the Card Catalog System (prior to computer inventory of books in the library), and the same system should and could be implemented here.

Looking at the shear size of this little forum and how it has grown, The logical place to start is by organization, sort the mess out. Then think about expanding. Do it in stages, don't overdo yourself, and see how it goes. One piece at a time.

Much like cleaning up the 2 acres I live on.... 35 vehicles, 8 tractors, 2 motorhomes, 2 boats, 1 baler, 3 large generators, 600 tires, 450+ small engines, 35 V8 engines, more tools than I can properly place in a home, over 1500 Computers, whole storage sheds of tools, appliances, plumbing, AC parts, metal, welders, trees, power lines (spools worth....), a 100 foot by 100 foot HEAP of recycle metal that is 35 feet tall, 4 apple trees, 2 cherry trees, loads of strawberries, and amazingly only 20 bicycles, 1 motorbike, 1 cushman trike, and a whole mess of stuff to leave here soon. We haul out about 8,000 pounds of junk and trash per year, and the yard never looks any different.

We need to organize the big things, and then worry about the small things....

*Electrolysis Hydrogen

*Chemical Reduction Hydrogen

*Electromagnetic Field Hydrogen-EMF/ EMF Radiation Magnetrons....etc...

*Physical Hydrogen- Heat, or other means, atomic decomposition....

Also......

*Induction Posts (Motors, Magnetics, etc....)

*Heat Energy (if you get da heat from da sun- IT'S FREE ENERGY!!!)

*Wind Energy (See Heat Energy)

*Electric Cars

*Steam Engines and Steam Power

*Alternate Heating Systems for your home/ Shop

*Alternate LIGHTING Systems of home/ shop
Could Include LED Lighting, High Voltage, low amperage, Mirrors, Fiber
Optic....

*Software for CAD, 3D raster/ rendering, and Modeling
Could Include Computer Simulations of Modeled Designs...

* VIDEO of experiments/ users could PAY to post on your site due to space/ size, or link to other video sites.

* Boxing Arena (an area for flaming and posts deemed such would go here) and would allow venting, and a proper place for the bashing to occur. Could possibly provide hours of entertainment, and have an expiration of posts, like say 40 days the posts vanish forever, limits the space used and cannot dredge up old arguments after they vanish?

* Classifieds, where you could sell old parts, test equipment, tools, and such.

* Parts Sourcing area, this would provide places to get parts, and maybe even a place to put the "Best and Worst Buys" of products, much like the Farm Show Magazine has the "Best and Worst Buys" section for recommendations of good products, and warnings of terrible products.
Also provides a good reference point to put for WHERE to get your materials, WHO has the best prices, WHEN you need them, and WHAT parts are the best and WHY they are the best to use.

* The main page....When you click to drill down in someone's project...you have to scroll through the admin's stuff first, and it's quite cumbersome. Can something be done about this, like maybe some changes to make it faster and simpler for the newbies to find and actually locate the other member's project folders?

* KEEP IT SIMPLE. CONFUSION IS TERRIBLE.

* Paid Membership areas? Where those that pay membership can access, and disclose more, but currently aren't due to the internet process and spammers? Maybe worth looking into, and could provide funds to expand the site to more than it is right now? Maybe become profitable? A yearly subscription fee, less than $20 would be fine, and as the members grow, and the site grows, you could actually set up mirror sites, satellite sites, local interest groups and even a network of actual gatherings of people in person. I have met 2 members from this forum IN PERSON so far. I had to spend the fuel to meet them, one in Hawaii, and the other up here (400 Miles...) in Alaska, but it was worth it.

* Moderators have more ability, and direct contact from ADMIN via telephone, and other means, to have the ability to handle stuff while ADMIN is working, eating, taking care of kids.....This is a community, even if it is online, but the housekeeping still needs done in any community regardless if it's digital or in person at an establishment.

I might have more suggestions later, but for now, I'm going to catch some zzzz's before I rebuild a Caterpillar 6 Cylinder engine tomorrow.
