I have also noticed the over efficency with the cooler temps. My pannels have hit a high of 68 volts in direct sun at -10 C. once I get into Jan ad Feb weather with 20-30 below weather I will see even greater production.

The guy where I bought this thing told me about one setup he installed at 130 volts to find that in Feb weather the system went to 160 volts and shut down the charger. not a bad bonus for living in the great white north but I'd rather have the warmer weather trade off myself

These disconects are a manual type blade rated for 230v@ 60 amps and for 13.98 they are in my price range. The wiring is a little messy I will clean up that neg lead to the batt disconnect and move it beside the pos. Other than that it works fine and the power increase is noticable. Not just the MPPT working but the higher input voltage has less line loss.

I was all day rewiring the charger and panels last Sunday so I wasn't able to get any kind of a charge. I ended up going to the last of my back-up chargers

Not exactly a "proper" diesel generator but hey it works :D

Totally humongo. Looks like I was right. I figured you had something else up your sleeve. Dat stuff cost big bucks. I'll bet you are glad it's all paid for huh?

You got some nice chargers too. How Much do your present panels put out? Say 50 Amps?

The salesman at the electrical wholesalers also informed me that the regular breakers for 110-220 also work on dc systems so instead of wiring this place with used automotive stuff I'll go with a regular panel.

we also have some paddle type 100 amp manual reset breakers at work that I was looking at but they would be a pain to install in a box. maybe I'll have rethink that idea, the cost is inline with my bugget :D

I've just picked up my Outback MX-60 and I'll be rewiring the system to 36 volts to cover line loss ect

I need to install a shut off for the panels and the batts and I was wondering what you used. I'm thinking just getting a 220v shut off rated for 30 amps for the panels and a lager one between the controller and batt bank. It seems the cheepest and simplest way to do it. It's going to take up a large area on the wall though and I'm hopeing there's a nice easy (and cheep :D ) fix for this.
