You might want to pick up a book on reading basic schematics.
Once you know the components and what they do (there aren't
that many), electronics isn't that difficult. All the components have
mechanical corrolaries. For example a diode is just like a one way
check valve, let's current flow in only one direction. Transistors are
like fluid-control valves, where a small trigger current opens much
larger flows. Capacitors are like storage tanks and coils are like fluid-
driven motors connected to infinitely variable flywheels. There's
magnetism and electrostatics, with likes and opposites that repel and
attract. The only hairy part is computing how much voltage (pressure)
and current (amps / gallons per minute) is flowing through any part of a
circuit at a given time, actuate a device, and of course get back more than
we put in (he-he) The unschooled can be better off than the well
educated who bought into the prejudice taught first day of class, that
you "can't get something for nothing." Maybe not, but you can get more
than you paid for.

The guy at Radio Slack was a "comunications" expert. Seems the corporate direction is to sell cell phones and collect the payments. looked like one of those check cashing places on friday. So that was a waste of time. Unfortunatly much of the electrical discussion here is in the language of the experts. I just know stuff from making sparks and following wire diagrams and reading the hurestic discription in the auto repair manuals. I also occasionaly inspect elect. meter service box for residental. the EE does the big stuff. I have a long way to go, before I know what to do with a diode or what they even look like. I take two steps back when I use the microwave, let alone take one apart.

Well I have an EE friend who hasn't a clue about this stuff, so we're
all about equal footing, acquiring knowledge.

Yes, even S1R9 thought it was a steam engine. He never claimed to
make hydroxy. I think his second battery was also replenished by
the alternator. Probably the water arc explosion principle.

I'll post some S1R9 stuff in my project folder.

allowed him to mix HV and relatively high current at the output.
A cap alone might not do it. His relays being driven by an inverter,
sucked a lot of power, such that he needed a second battery. And
his wiring wasn't simple to understand. Maybe that's why no one
claims to've replicated his success to date.

I can see you're thinking along the work of S1r9.

But AlaskaStar suggests something even easier than what I posted
in my projects folder about using a second transformer to inject
current, or s1r9's use of an inverter, which is still powered from
your battery/alternator system. In other words all the power you
need is already there.

Imagine a transistor and diode shorting from the battery to the HV coil
output, across the electronic ignition. You only want current flowing this
auxillary route when the coil is NOT firing, in other words low V,
high amps between the HV spikes. (The diode protects the transistor
from HV backflow.) Maybe a PNP transistor will let you do this, is a simple
logic function. The idea is to have strong amperage and HV to the
plug. They will be out of phase but may not matter at the business end. A
cap could correct this but you might never, ever want to touch it, since
even a <1uF microwave oven capacitor will knock you quite dead.
