Yes the wasted spark in a one lung engine needs to be deleted. It seems like a circuit could be designed to be able to use the existing magnet and coil but thats probably only a dream. It would be nice.
Also as an engine, say like a motorcycle sometimes has spring loaded weights for advancing timing more as RPM's increase.
I think the newer engines using semiconductor type ignition modules do this electronically. I still have a 1968 Yamaha 180cc's that uses points. I have had some Toyoda's, and Datsun's that use semiconductor modules. I think the ECM or a cars electronic brain (Electronic Control Module) can easily read the RPM's or tachometer and then based on loads at given speeds these computers are programed. Programming is set by trial and error or repeated load testing. The EEPROM in a car's computer is like having a small clipboard with a set of instructions to go by. The little clipboard or EEPROM can be erased or replaced or upgraded and last but not least, slightly altered.
We are going to experience higher energy costs all the way around until we probably start crying UNCLE. Charges are going to climb for BIG OIL and BIG COAL.
Green power can easy the burden so let's keep leading the way right in the face of all of the threats from THE OIL BULLEY's.
Big Oil Money is going to stall and lie to us for as long as they can about new technology being just around the corner in another 10 years, so let's go around these dogs.
Have you ever pictured a Gorilla trying to hit a Nat with a sludge hammer?
Well Big Oil is the Gorilla and we are the Nat. There is no way to stop it.
