Hi Rich.
I know you are only using brute force at this stage, just wondering what sort of results you got (gas to power ratio)

Hello
I am trying to make a PWM3E board
Does someone knows where can I find a *.pcb file for ExpressPCB?

quote:
When I mentioned that about certain cells not resonating with the rest,
I did not go into detail. On the big welder sized units, when the slots were
cut, they were cut in groups of 16 at each pass. If where the next group
of slots would start was just slightly off from the last group, the cells at
those spots would be a small fraction of an inch different in width. It was
those cells that showed a different response. Smaller units with all slots
cut in one pass did not do that. Still, 4 cells out of 70, or 5 cells out of 80,
being slightly off, is hardly even noticed.

Bob
end of quote
Sory, I totaly don't know about quoting

Does this meand that if I cut the SS by hand and not by machine
it's very likely that resonance would be harder to find for that cell?

It could be Palic. It all depends on the accuracy of your cuts and plate spacing accuracy. It will still work well as a series cell in most cases, resonance is just a bit more finicky than DC operation.

Thank you Bob :D
You are an inspiration to me, and a lot of people on this site.

I will be very honest with you...
I don't have a lot of $ to spend on a large series cell, but once
i get a hold on the resonance this will be my ultimate goal.
I am sure that this should be the other way around but I don't have that luxury.
My field is electronics, and I work in a firm where the electronics parts are at hand.
Mostly I do repairs on older switch power
suplies and older tech ( 20 yrs) electronics. We are also into PLC-s
and PIC 16F... microprocesors programing.
If you have the time and will, I will appreciate if you
could point me in the right direction.
Is it possible to test the resonance efect on just one cell?

quote:
Another point is, unless you plan on driving each flooded cell seperately
at 2 VDC or less, and building a seperate resonance drive for each of
those seperate flooded cells, you will have loads of fun trying to reach
resonance, let alone keep it, with a series set of parallel plate design cells.
end quote

... or is the phenomena of resonance and EMF inside of electrolite
strictly bonded to more than one cell?

If i look at the series cell as a capacitor with the plates and the
water as a dielectrum, is series cell realy just a series conection of
individual capacitors but each cell with the same capacitance?

Thank you

I know, I meant one that actually measures gas flow, not through calibrated containers. You had the comma there, I couldn't figure out if you were referring to 1 or 2 meters. Regardless, I still I think it's a very small deviation. Unless you're working in a lab and were cranking out the cells with a cnc, I would expect some variance in your handiwork. That tenth you mentioned in thickness variations could be doing it.

Your average LPM on all three cells is 1.53 which means your deviation is 0.13, or about 8.7%. It's really not that much, BUT if you just use the last two your deviation is 0.05, or about 3% (very tight if you ask me). I don't know how accurate your calibrated containers are, but the differences could easily be attributed to construction differences (however minute). It makes sense that the first one would have some deviation from the last two.

Great numbers by the way. May you enjoy continued success! :)

You have done very well Rich. You may want to check for gas leaks on the container or fittings. I have had that happen & mess up my production numbers before. My chamber tops clamp on, so if they were not gasketed or clamped properly, they could leak. It had me scratching my head a few times why the cell production was not up to par for a measurement run. Adding the backpressure of twin bubblers and dessicant canister can make any leaking worst. A few sprays of soapy water on the box and fittings would reveal the culprit ;-)

Rob , I just found your message to me.
Sorry my email system is so stuffed because I have used up my downloads for the month.
( Yeah I downloaded Vista 2007 , mmmmm Must give them some feed back)
-
Would you mind if I post your Units details here, to talk about them?
Glenn , See Ya.
