that depends on the amount of gas you were producing from the design that did both H2 and O2. if you were to make enough then you'd be able to run it soley of that gas.
with striaght H2 your fuel to oxidizer ratio is much higher so that you can get into the flamible limits of H2. h2 is flamible from 4% to 82% in air. remember that air is only 21% O2. when you add the mixed fuel from an electrolyzer you are raising the level of O2 in the combustion process, thereby making it harder to run the engine off of H2. the upside to doing it the electrolyzer way is that you will displace more N2 and thereby create less NOx levels (a critical pollutant for EPA).
