Have you tried one?
Sounds interesting, if they are not a solid state sealed unit - may be
able to modify some components and see if I can alter the frequency.
I think thre's an old bosch battery drill at work.

I use a A/C blower control module for a car that had automatic temp control and it used PWM and I can put out close to 30amp. The unit has a single wire to control out put by varing the circit to ground. It seems to out put just as much gas as staight to a relay with only 10amp used. Has anyone used this type og device before?

I'm finding PWM controllers in the digikey catalogue; unfortunately
part numbers don't tell a lot. Most go for around $5.00 USD.
