hmmm... I like to "rock out" on the guitar myself. never even considered how the distortions were made, but i know that if they do use waves, it makes sence that they would use an adjustable frequency. I'm having so much truble figureing out how to genarate a frequency suffecient for h2 production (say 42Khz-43Khz.?) and it would be great if they were realy variable, like a couple of hz to a cople of Ghz, for testing of a wide range of frequencies. I sound alot like you (as far as being lost with anything electrical more complicated than switching on a light... LOL) and it would be great if we could minipulate a distorter to produce the desired frequency.......... I'll do some research on it... BTW, it wouldnt be at all hard to find a cheap distorter thats been used for a little, or even a new one, on sale. check it out on ebay
