Give me a pile of junk, and I will turn it into all sorts of really neat stuff :) .

Hi Steve,

I'd love to see pics of what you've made and how you're only supplying 2.5v to the system so that 24watts is your power consumption. You must be using a transformer from what I can gather. At any rate pics would be nice as they are always fun to see.

As to the creator of the site, that would be me; and you are most welcome :) I did it to document my own work and it sort of grew into this thing that it is today. A few hundred hours of coding later and now I have a way for you guys to post all of your work here for free as well :)

So please do take advantage of that I'm approving your access now so I'll be anxious to see your pics.
-Chris

Howdy Chris,

I must have pressed the wrong key, as my reply seems to have vapourised!
Hmm, perhaps I electrolysed it ;) .

Thank you very kindly for letting me join this grand group :) . There are lots of good ideas being shared here, and I hope to be able to add any that may come to mind.
Electronics is my forte, so I will be trying some of the electronics related aspects of this fascinating field of scientific endeavour.
The idea of PWM seems to be popular. It has some desirable advantages over other methods, like the ballast resistors that I am using, so I will go for that idea mighty soon :) .

Chris, I'd really like to thank you for the great site that you have created. It is indeed a unique place, where like minded souls can work together on some really great things.
All power to you :) .

Best wishes from Steve-tee.

Now, as I am new to all of this, I am not sure how to put a picture or a link into my post, but here goes...

Well folks,

It looks like the Coke bottle idea is a bit of a fizzer :( .
After about 3 weeks of service, the bottle began to leak.
It seems that the Sodium Hydroxide was attacking the plastic.

Here are a couple of pics, assuming I get this URL thingy right :?

Now, I think I need to spend more time looking at the works of other members. Perhaps plastic containers are ok, as long as I choose the right type.

Best wishes, and deafening bangs

Howdy Adam,

I just love this group and all of the neat ideas that the good folks here are working on.

I have been hoping to meet someone with similar interests, so we can hatch an evil plan to convert all of the world's water into a really loud bang!

Hehe, perhaps we'd save just enough water to put out the fire at the labs ;).

In a stroke of great luck, it turns out that I reside in Wainuiomata also. Perhaps you have been hearing explosions, on Saturdays and Sundays?

That was me, trying to get my evil plan into operation hehe.

For windmills, you'll surely find the F&P motor is a great producer. They can readily deliver 300 to 400 VAC, so no testing with the tip of yer tongue, like a 9V battery

Adam, it will be a pleasure to gently convert some H2 and O2 back into water, with your able assistance
Around here, it's a great passtime - and it keeps those pesky Pukekas away :D

Hopefully, I will have the mess in the mackine shop tidied up when you come to visit.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Best wishes, and seriously loud blasts,
Steve-tee.
