Acrylic glue ?

What do you use to glue Acrylic Plastic together ??

I am trying to put a test cell together with Edison Battery Plates in it ,
I will post the project and results when done, but I can't find ANYTHING that will bond the Acrylic together, this is getting spendy doing the Try Thi and that when all the packaging will say is bonds Most plastic, what a line of #$^@.

I even looked up the Manufacturer of the stuff I got and all their site says is glues easy with "Acrylic Cement" but they don't sell any nor reference anywhere to get it. and I sure can't find it.

My friend has a plastic welde,r it is like a real hot heat gun. There are different rods that is supposed to bond to the material you are using.We used it on my 4 wheeler fender and it did a real nice job. Here is a link for a plastic welder. Hope this helps some.

IPS weld on 4 or 16

Methelyene Chloride works well to melt some plastics together.

MEK ((Kethyl Ethyl Keytone) Melts ABS Plastic and puts it together nicely.
Acetone will also work, but not as well.

And Some types of plastic are Almost Impossible to glue or melt.

Methelyene Chloride is what I use for both lexan and pexi the surfaces need to be relatively tight fitting. HTH

may be off topic but has anyone tried welding plastic with a cheap butane torch or propane torch?

I think that usually igintes the plastics Kevin. Most plastic welders are like soldering torches that you move along the seam. Since most plastic is Carbon based they almost always burn.
