Yes, the formula "P = EI" is Correct for "Pure DC" and "Pure Sine Wave".
But your Typical Meter CAN'T Accuratey Measure other Waveforms for eiher Voltage or Current.
Therefore It is Not Correct for a Square Waves, Sawtooth Waves or any other waveform. Especially true for Mixed Waveforms.
Your Output is a Mixed Waveform.
Additionally when using a device such as a Welding Transformer, Because of the Inductance, You also have "Phase Lead and Phase Lag". This Severly Disrupts Accurate Measurements
I would suggest you go to your Public Library and get some books and do some reading on this.
One very good book is the "ARRL Handbook" for Radio Amateurs.
It covers a Lot of topics on power, waveforms, phase and measurements.
