This forum is for discussing anything related to electrolysis and electrolyzer designs.

Looking for some solid measurement data

Postby Cryptonic26 » Mon Jan 02, 2006 1:12 am

Hi all, first post and all that it implies.

I'm looking for a chart that show's the relationship between pressure and amperage during electrolysis of water.

That is, I assume that for a given rate of Gas production, amperage requirements increase as electrolite pressure increases, but I would like some exact numbers to review, if possible. I dont have the equipment to make these measurements here, sadly. :(

Any information, or links would be greatly appriciated!

Hmmm....I don't have this info...and have not seen it onlone anywhere...
I've read every single post to this forum, and I do not recall ever seeing anything related to this. Maybe someone knows of a link or something? I don't know.

What's this info for? Thinking about pressurizing an electrolyser and want to see how high you can go without making it too inefficient? I would be afraid of a couple things. Mainly, pressure means more hydroxy in the same area, which we usually try to minimize. This can make for a VERY nasty explosion. The higher pressure, the worse it can be :!:

Well, Its a little silly actually, But I'm just looking for some closure.

A long time ago, I thought I figured out the answer to all Earth's problems by bubbling hydroxy through a freakishly tall column of water. The idea was that the bubbles would rise due to buoyancy, through a series of turbines. By the time the bubbles reached the top of this column, it would have turned the turbine enough to generate the voltage required to electrolyze more bubbles at the bottom. Thus over unity would have been produced.

It was one of my first ideas that got me into real science. Since then, I've learned a lot, enough to brush the idea aside. But it still nags at me that I never did the calculations. Know what I mean? Unfinished business haha.

Since the whole idea is to break the laws of thermodynamics, the data shouldn't be derived from these laws. So, to finish the broken concept, I need to either find actual experiment data on the energy requirements to electrolyze pressurized water, or do it myself. I may do that at some point, but I was hoping someone already beat me there.

silly idea

Postby mrgalleria » Tue Jan 03, 2006 1:08 am

Maybe that idea is not that silly. If you added the concepts of Viktor Schauberger vortex to your updrafted water-hydrogen mix, why couldn't a turbine of some sort be used to make electricity?

Well, the problem isn't with generating electricity, I have no doubt that it could generate electricity. However, I'm unsure if 'enough' could be generated to compensate for the increased requirements of the extra pressure exerted inside the circuit at the bottom of the chamber.

This, of course, is an ASSUMPTION. I don't know for sure if more energy is required to fuel electrolysis in a high pressure environment, but the laws of thermodynamics insist that this should be the case.

Other problems that I'm intentionally ignoring is the solubility of hydroxy within its own electrolyte. Is there a chance that the gas could be absorbed by the water itself, given enough time and pressure?

As for Viktor Schauberger's vortex, This is the first I've heard of it. I'll google, but I'm sure others may be interested as well.

If you have not read about Viktor, your in for a big surprise. see the following- www.spiritofmatt.com , www.rexsearch.com , http://peswiki.com/index.php/OS:Klimator:Main_Page etc

think of a more simple option

Postby kansashonda » Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:26 am

If you are runinng a car, you have the altenator to pull from. Still getting energy produced by the electrolisizer. This energy is basicly free. That is to some degree over unity in action.

If you are running a honda generator, once again you can use the power you are making to run your electrolisizer. If the energy you are putting out is greater than that wich you are putting in, then you have achieved over unity.

Bottom line is that there are more pressing issues right now, such as: how to keep the bubbles from building up on the electrodes, and is alaska's design ever going to be suitable for the average joe. Over unity is happening when you are truely running a car off of water. There are no two ways about it. No need to make it perfect right now, lets just make it. Until there are working plans available to the common man on this web site, we all need to be researching together on common problems that everyone seems to be encoutering.

I am not trying to be rude. I just think that if we cooperate more as a team then we could change the world. One car, or home at a time.
