serious hydroxy flash back explosions.

ive have buit a reasonable electrolyser that really churns out the gas.
however every time i try burning it through a torch after aprox 15 seconds i get a flash back and my small bubbler(bong) is ripped to pieces and im showered in water. . what am i doin wrong?
i assume my presure is inconsistent?-but i cant see a=ny reason why it would be.
does any one else suffer this problem. i need a proper back pressure arrestor. does anyone have a design to nock one up that doesnt lead to explosions or do i have to buy one ? if so where is a good place to order one from.

You're needle may be getting hot and expanding which lowers the pressure, or the heat maybe igniting the gas inside the needle. Try getting a smaller tip. How big is your flame by the way. My electrolyzer at 6 amps can make a maybe 1cm flame that is like 1/16 wide.

thanks. yeah perhaps my needles is abit big, its probably about 3mm so signifacntly larger then then 1/16th ill change the needle and see what hapens. the visible flame is atleast 2 centimeters long maybe an inch.
the electrolyser is made up of 9 plates of 4" x 12" and im running it straight of a car battery with wires rated at 200 amps so its drawing as much power as it can.
but my hope is to soon run the electrolyser so to produce the fuel to power a small motorcycle engine(namely a honda ct110, postie bike). so my real concern is back fires or premature explosions ripping through the carb and fuel line to destroy the electrolyser and any one who is around.

I guess this is the place to ask .6mm mig welder tip is that about right for a tank drawing ... actualy i dont know how much it draws id say about 15amps though but yeah .6mm?

John you may simply be draining your battery so much that after 15 seconds of run-time, your amperage output from the battery is only about 1/2 of what it was when you started.

This would directly result in your gas evolution (liters per minute) dropping way off. Lower production = lower pressure and hence you have your backflash.

You need to use FAR LESS voltage if you're producing your gas with just 1 cell. You should try for 2 or 3 volts per cell.
