Similarities with the Griffin Patent

mrgalleria:

Do you have any more results to report? I think that what you have described is the start of the reaction.

With regards to the Griffin Patent:
Has anyone else tried to duplicate this patent? There have been a number of references to it, but no results have been posted up to this point. Thrival has referenced it, as well as mrgalleria. I have read and re-read it as well as studied additional material. As mentioned, there are a lot of similarities between this thread and the patent. The patent of course has a lot more detail than the method that AlaskaStar has hinted at.
I would propose that we start with this patent as a basis to duplicate, and then when successful, move to AlaskaStar's method.

Thoughts?

I've read linnard's patents too, but they're written in highly technical
way, not so easy to understand. While simple single acid-metal reactions
for making hydrogen are well known, the regeneration Linnard discusses
deals with cheaper methods of extracting metal from ores. On the other
hand what AlaskaStar started and btrautman recently echoed are chemical
principles as applies to batteries. While there may well be overlap, I think
readers are looking for something simple, understandable, that they can
dive right into with fair confidence it will work first time. Even AlaskaStar
suggested that the overdriven edison cell may be the best way for the
majority. Even after finding the optimum materials and building a
cell or cells that work, there's still the challenge of configuring it to a
vehicle's electrical system, correct overvoltage, pulse rate, etc.

And there's one more question we need to ask (I think WaterFire or
someone else may already have); how much H2 will the edison cell
make at the .3V overage? Will it be enough to power an automobile?
We must add the overage to the natural backpressure of charging
the battery. Will it make more hydrogen or use less energy than
standard SS plates? Could we do as well by simply increasing the
surface area of a standard bob boyce electrolyzer? Why not just
a bi-compartment cell-- two PVC pipes joined by a lower union,
KOH electrolyte and electrodes made of stainless steel wool? (much
greater surface area than plates.)
