BillyHydrogen:
The gasoline in the barrel got brown colored. I don't know if
it was leaching color from the barrel itself, or if the volatiles
from the gasoline were leaving heavier residues behind as
Bob Boyce suggested. If the latter, is depressing because
as for gasoline carbs, doesn't give us many options.
I ran into performance issues that never let me do proper
milage test. Now after several months, my stock carb seems
to be working again (I guess some angels rebuilt it while I
was sleeping.) Anyway I'm working on another carb made
from a jello mold with a pot lid and scarf wick wrapped
around the hollow pillar inside. It mounts where the air cleaner
goes and could even be hidden inside it. If it works, I'll post
pics. Working on a diaphram seal to fit inside the cover, involves
a bit of thermo-forming side-project; always something to test
my technical limits. Bet that never happens to the rest of youz.
