Yes I am thinking along these lines also. In my design the only real edge is around the mouth of the pails. This is taken care of by the tight fitting rubber boot. On other units (parallel), I have tightly,wrapped a strip cut from a nylon rain coat around the edges produced at the bottom of the cell. I'm currently designing a tubing arrangement (for the gas escape holes) that will not only prevent possible erosion , but will eliminate up to 50% of the current leakage caused by these holes. And yes, Bob you are correct in that the fun comes in making these units as efficient as possible. Just like working a good puzzle, satisfaction comes when all the pieces come together.
