Timing should be retarded due to a faster burn ! ! ! ! !

A standard ICE has ignition timing set to ~ 8 to 14 degrees before Top-Dead-Center TDC... This is done so the fuel (gasoline) that burns slowly has time to burn and produce maximum down force when the piston starts traveling down on the power down stroke....

Consequently - since Hydroxy burns faster, the spark need to come later - thus the timing should be retarded to fire AT or a little after TDC..

Your correction is what I had meant to say....the timing needs to be brought closer to TDC due to a faster burn rate.

I like the idea of going with a programable ECM to take full control of engine managment, with the control you have over the air-fuel mixtures you should definatley be able to show an increase in efficiency when running hyroxy. How much hydroxy you run will determine how much you can lean out the fuel and hence what the ideal maps would look like. If the inflow of hydroxy is constant then there would be the most hydroxy to gasoline at idle. As the revs increase and more gasoline is needed there will be progressivly less hydroxy. This would mean that the fuel in the cylinder has a progressivley slower burn rate. Timing could be gradualy adcanced throughout the rev range to compensate. I'm not sure how you work out how much to change the air from the intake and the amount of gasoline. If it was me I think I would retard the timing to at least top dead centre then set up the hydroxy into the intake and take readings from the oxygen sensor and ecu to tune the air fuel maps on a lap top. There will probably be more to it but thats my thoughts your questions.

Can you tell us about the engine are you working with and the ECM you plan to use?

Its really funny how the small Hydroxy Booster seems to defy theretical
results.
[untested Theory says ] The motor should run Hotter because you are burning extra fuel.
[untested Theory says] the motor should ping and detonate because the
hydrogen burns before top dead centre.
[untested Theory says ] You will use more fuel because the Alternator is
using power to work the hydroxy unit.
[untested Theory says ] it will rust out your motor Extremely fast because
of all the extra water created.
[untested Theory says ] its extremely dangerous because hydrogen is
so explosive - you will have an explosion and damage motor / car.

When you test the small Hydroxy booster what you actually find is
The Complete Opposite of all the above.!

How do I know...?
I tested several for a long time.
No, definately no problem with hydrogen working against the motor
and being detrimental.
The small amount of Hydroxy - just helps the Petrol burn more efficiently.
- Did I find more Rust?????? ... pulled the motor apart and found No
signs of more rusting.! Just a nice protective coating on the bores -
caused by the burn.
It was all plusses for my experimenting [ oh there was One Down point;
had to top up the water each week! ]
I am upset that I havent got one working on the car right now, I am between models.
