Yep here's one i hope someone will answer for me....or just set me streight---volts are applied to the electrode, current flows through electrolyte,amps are figured between the two? :oops:

The diode just converts ac into dc. To figure out your power you need an amp gauge. I use one for a car. It's good enough. I use a car battery for power. So, if I'm running an electrolyzer lets say, and it's running at 60 amps, then I multiply 60ampsX12volts=720watts. There you have it.

seems there should be a liquid with a little more h in it than water to electrolyze,is there?

I use salt. Not the best and poisoness but works good. You need very little. I use a dixie cup with hot water in it and dump in about 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir it up and slowly pour it in your water as your watching your amp gauge. The amps will climb fast so don't just dump a bunch in all at once. Have fun.
