I take one small plastic box in electro shop($5),and one used diode of 300A(oversized)from the welding shop--$5,and small 12V fan for cooling diode--($5).Insert diode in the box and connect fan on the box(first make holes with drill on both side of the box.Fan connect on the alternator.With this simple system you will have 100% automatic control and protection.

So the next best thing is an external diode. I do like that idea a lot. Where might I find a diode powerful enough to do what I need to do here?

Regarding the relay hooked into the ignition key... I LOVE that idea because it's so simple... but people will sometimes leave their key turned on for the radio or other things. You don't want to drain your battery in these cases because of forgetting to turn your electrolyzer off.

Hence I keep coming back to the desire to have a simple circuit that detects the 14.4v in the system.

Did those simple diagrams I submitted seem like they would do the job? Anyone with more electronics knowledge then I ...please feel free to speak up 8)

That way when you turn the key off, it deengerizes and shuts off.

One year ago I installed 8 cells unit in my car.unit produced aprox.2L/min when engine running(13.9V).When is key on(engine not runing),voltage on booster is approximately 12.5V(good battery)booster will not work,because is not enough voltage/cell.My clear bubbler show me that.
But,simplest way for you if install one strong diode between battery and alternator ,and connect booster to alternator.I used diode from welding apparatus. :wink:

Without a unit like I am describing, you're going to be drawing power from the battery when the car is not running. Unless you can remember to turn it off every time you're done... it will keep producing hydroxy until the battery is dead.

Why you need 14.4 volts,lots of alternators working with 14v or lower.
For good serial electrolyser you don't need this electronic unit because electrolyser can not produce xydroxy when is engine OFF. :?:
