There are many convincing sounding arguments both for and against in that article. Its a bit like reading through the "Waterboy" threads. In the case of the article, there are two people who were not directly involved in the original research speculating from their own belief points. Neither of them had attepted to replicate to prove their suspicions. But on the one hand, I have been reading Keelynet for more than 10 years and am pretty familiar with Jerry Decker's responses... and they are usually pretty detailed and are not just baseless blind belief.
I admit that my thoughts here is pure speculation based on what I have read here on OUPOWER, and the information provided in the patent. So...I still have some research to do... and some firsthand knowledge to get as someone in another thread said.
I am not really sure how significantly different the ICE's were in the 30's compared to today... I suspect that the piston displacement was quite a bit lower so gas production could have been quite a bit lower and reasonable performance achieved.
