this is the basic cell design, six "smacks" plates, drilled four ways, assembled about 1/8" spacing between the plates, nylon rod used throughout, one anode and one cathode, the three sets of plates joined by stainless steel flatstock pounded flat from a pair of tongs purchased at shoprite for $2.99 and cut into sections.

in these pictures it looks like the cell wont fit into the container, and it wont, i made small revisions to the anode and cathode leads, as well as the binding straps so that it fits in the test container. i've never had a cell produce so much, unfortunately i'm running a lot of KOH in my distilled water so the amps are out of control, i'm limiting the cell to 18A based on the theory of 12A being highest effeciency (because of cell plate area) and 24A being shorter life but higher HHO output.

i'm currently building a really nice housing out of a high grade SS beaker from a closed down EPA testing laboratory.
i took some video's with my new camcorder but its being a PIA because the files are coming over to the computer as MPEG-2's or something weird.
if anyone wants to know how to build it, i could supply a full parts list, part numbers, and pricing.
more to come, ampheres, improved housing, L/min output as well as temperature of cell.Statistics: Posted by resident_genius — Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:55 am
