I have a question for you (well actually several.) I trust you've seen
Ant Davidson's "kettle" in his projects folder. Personally i think his
spiral coil design to be quite elegant and giving the largest surface
area in a small amount of space. Recently I came up with a very
simple method to bang out models like his, using cross-shaped end
clips with grooves cut in to accomodate the shimstock, rather than
the need to measure and laser cut all those holes, tedious winding,
by inserting and removing plastic pins, etc.
I remember you saying that numerous plates don't all resonate at the
same frequency. This got me thinking, hmmm... the fewer the plates,
the better! So how about just two plates, a positive and a negative?
This translates to a simple double spiral, starting in the center, and with
the far ends on opposite sides of the spiral, which is easiest for locating
the terminals. This creates a + - + - + -... configuration between the
plates, i.e. each adjacent plate is of opposite sign.
You also said that screens vs. plates have huge inefficiency because ions
pass right through; but I assume you were talking about series plate
designs. In the above configuration, ion pass-through shouldn't happen
because the nearest adjacent plates are opposite sign, and every other
plate is the same sign. Again there are only two plates but the spiral
configuration just works out that way. So in this case, screens should
work fine. Screens have greater surface area and have many 'bumps,'
don't need to be roughened. But the real reason for their use is SS
screen is CHEAP compared to plate.
The final advantage is two plates require only 2V approximate, which
means we can step down most of the battery voltage to produce even
more amps, so the lyzers run cooler, and of course applying your
resonant frequency principles.
So a group of double spiral cells in PVC tower configuration like Chris'
latest design, with one cell's output feeding into the next, etc., adding
energy to the hydrogen with each additional 'lyzer the gas passes through,
would seem to be the optimum design in my opinion. Your comments
