ummmm... frequencies, huh? I'll have to ask 'Electro-mechanic' about that later on. It's about 6:30am here now, and he just emailed me that he has a dentist appointment this morning. He should be back around noon-time.

I know it's nighttime down-under now, but I can't find my time-conversion chart at the moment. Really, I have one someplace around here! LOL

I'm pretty sure we don't have any worthwhile numbers for you, at the moment, because that 'test' didn't bring any great success. There were some very tiny bubbles (thank you, Don Ho) coming out of the tubes, but 'E-m' was not very happy with the lines on his oscilloscope and other meters on his bench.

I believe the biggest problem at this time is no amperage reading on the meter, and the 3 diodes in the heat-sinks are not even warm, with 35 volts (I think) running.

He said yesterday, that he was going to start 'populating' the second PWM3E board that we got. Not sure why at this moment.

And since I'm not really doing any fabrication at the moment, I'm thinking and sketching our Version 2 cell. ...MUCH bigger! LOL

...more added to out 'Project pages' as they happen!

That is a nice bit of gear you have and I may be able to use your help. I think I recognise the PWM3e as we have one the same. Would you be able to tell me what frequencies it operates on as ours seems to be way down on what we expected.(about a third)

If we know what we are aiming for all we need to do I believe is change a few caps.

Keep up the good work and we will be watching for the results Kindest regards

Blue

...eco, Nerd_Weed, kevinsatterfield, olympios, glenn_aircooled!

You know how invaluable all this info is to a couple of 'Newbies' like me and Electro-mechanic! We need all the help we can find.

Now... I got a call from Electro-mechanic a short while ago, and he decided to up the power to the cell (Wattage, I think), and it started bubbling abundantly! So now he needs a rectifier (whatever that is) to make more power without burning up the power supply he now has (0-30w, I think).

...Experiment! ...Experience! ...Excitement! woo-HOO!!Image

Yes, I actually have 2 bubblers built, using 1-gal. windshield-washer fluid jugs. I have been cautioned and scared enough by everyone's posts!!

I am just not sure why I would need more than one bubbler, tho. ...and I've seen pics of THREE bubblers in series.

:?: Does the 'gas' become changed after passing through more than one bubbler? Does it change after passing through just ONE bubbler? :?:

:?: Is it possible for the gas to backup through just one bubbler?? :?:

:?: ...and is it okay to use plain tap water in the bubbler and in the gas-output measuring device, or should it be distilled water, like we are using in the call (for now)?? :?:

Thinking about 'bubblers' a bit just now brings to mind Bob Boyce's version made from a water filter housing, compared to Chris' and other bubblers I've seen around 'town' here.

:?: Is the bubbler subject to possible explosion from a back-flash? :?:

:?: SHOULD the bubbler be constructed from PVC or ABS or something stronger than a soda bottle? :?:

I have the exit-tube coming out through the cap of the plastic jug.

:?: Would it be safer/better to have it come out near the neck of the jug and leave the cap as is? :?:

is of UTMOST importance! Who wants to get blown up before making a great-working cell? LOL
