Finally....a better picture

I don't understand what exactly is happening.  For some reason, I just pulled my electrolyser apart (preparing to make multiple, better ones), and I find that the plates seem to have turned a bit yellowish.  Now, my electrolyte is not prefectly clear like water anymore, and I'm not sure if that maybe stained it or not.  I don't believe it's rust forming, or even starting to possibly form, as it doesn't seem like this.  It's just stained.  Is this to be expected?  What could this be caused by?  I know the pics are probably REALLY hard to see, however at the 2 holes, where the metal and nylon washers sat they are clean, white as opposed to yellowy.

I am going to re-sand them before putting them back in, so I will see if this removes the layer or something, but yeah...I'm just wondering.
