Project Description:
Electrolyser v4.

-In this version, my main goal was to minimize the amount of standing hydroxy in the system.
-I changed this version to submerged, instead of series.  Series cell electrolysers are quite a pain in the butt.
-Everything in this version is quite cheap ($20 in shim stock, $30 in hardware, $4 in containers, so far).
-My ultimate goal is to create many of these units in series, off a 24v power supply, and to create enough gas for welding.

Updates:
10/10/05 - Updated title of the project.  Abandoned because of difficulties sealing the container.

Thats what I ended up with for current in my last test.  Not so bad... Not so good.  In this test, I measured my electrolyte concentration @ ~16% NaOH by weight.

It's the 5 volt line from the PC power supply I was using in previous projects.  I have a better power supply on its way, so hopefully I'll be able to put this poor thing out of its misery.

Thats it for now.  I need some more hardware, and some of those fibreglass reinforced dremel cutoff dics, to make another cell (stainless steel is damn annoying to cut -- 26 regular cutoff discs so far :P).  Then, off the 5 volt line, I should only be pulling around 2.4v/cell at the same amperage.

I'll also have to try and solve my leaking problems.  I'd be very interested to see what kind of gas production I'm getting from 2 cells @ 6A.
