That paddle there is to block the heat, otherwise you'd burn your arm from the radiant heat. OUCH!


It's sweaty work, but somebody's got to do it...


Putting a blob of glass onto the other end so they can break it off of the first rod. Hmmm I'm going to have to enlist Ryan or one of his friends to give much better descriptions as to what is going on in these pictures. I have never blown glass (yet) so I am definitely not familiar with the termonology. I wonder if he or one of his gang would be up to the task? :)


Here's the little suit to allow them to place things into the annealing oven.
