I hooked everything up and came upstairs to the garage. I have plenty of hose because I ordered an extra 10 feet from the normal 5 feet included in the package. I plan on putting the propane bottle outside when I fire this up.

In this picture I am preparing to light it, so that I can test my new regulator. I am not sure I like how I have the connections done. I may put my shut-off valves at the burner so that I can set the tank outside immediately? hmmm

I lit it several times and it kept blowing out as I turned up the PSI beyond 2 or 3psi. So I put my home-made flare on the end. This helps to keep things ignited. It performed very well, and I had zero blow outs.

I am trying to get a nice close pic of the flame, as I am adjusting it. I will play with it a bit more tomorrow to try to find the exact air/fuel mixture for the "Neutral" flame that is spoken of so often.

I decided to put it in the furnace to take a few pics.

Here is another angle for you to see the flame better inside there.

Stay tuned as tomorrow I will try to really smelt some metal. I think I finally have all of the pieces of this puzzle in place and I am expecting a nice result for my first pour. I will probably just pour some ingots first, nothing major... I simply want to get the hang of doing this before I try making some real casts. See you tomorrow!
