This is my test idea. I havnt actually tested this design yet but seems promising.

Tap water is used for conditioning(removing impurities). How to condition the water, run the cell (open lid) with tap water for a few minutes (5 mins) everyday for 3-5 days, brown scum will form at the bottom, remove the brown scum then the clean water will be the fuel.

I tested also two stainless plates 5 cm apart but bubble formation is too slow, then tested at 2mm apart bubble formation is quite fast. This is done without any circuit just a 12v car battery.

only 10 seconds test, the reaction is instant, i dont want my car battery to drain.
