Project Description:
This is my first attempt at an electrolyser.  I figured that I'd try and use off-the-shelf items, and not necessarily try and follow anyone elses ideas.

So, instead of using stainless steel electrodes, I bought copper plated pipe clamps.
Instead of stainless bolts, I used copper wire.

Etc.. Etc..

Needless to say, this turned out to be more of an exercise in materials compatibility.

Enjoy my failures!

Here is the end product of v1.  Two pieces of copper wiring, each connected to every other copper plated "fin" piece.

Another angle.

Ahhh, the beginnings of a materials compatibility test.  Will the coper plated "stuff" handle the sodium hydroxide?  Will the copper wires handle the lye?

The answer to the last question was a disappointing "no".

Disappointing mainly because it only took me a few hours to make one.  Back to the drawing board, I suppose!

PS:  Crazy glue degrades in lye!!!
